(57) Abstract: A glucose sensor having an electrically insulating substrate, provided thereon, an electrode system comprising a
working electrode and a counter electrode and, formed in contact with or adjacent to the electrode system, a reacting layer comprising
glucose dehydrogenase with pyrroloqunoline as a coenzyme, wherein the reacting layer contains at least one additive selected from
the group consisting of gluconic acid and salts thereof. The glucose sensor is a high performance sensor which is excellent in storage
stability and exhibits improved response characteristics.
